Web Design Project Concept

End of first semester in EEPIS has arrived. In Monday, we have last semester test before get long holiday. New year's eve always come with rain. I don't know why. It's make me lazy to hang out. It make me thinking about task in my study. The task must be finished 2 weesk after last semester test. i fell something  blank without documentation of project. In this blog i want to share process the making of web design that i will do. Maybe someone here want give me suggest to my project.

I get task for creating web design about software. Here i will creating open source software directory website like sourceforge. Maybe the concept will be similiar to sourceforge, download.cnet and other website about software.

Before writing the code, i created a draft of web design layout. I will use HTML, CSS, Javascript and JQuery. Here is the pictures of my concept

I will use 2 column layout wiht the menu on the left of content. Picture above just image of the index page. Menu in left will using JQuery, and i will make if floating. So, if visitor scrolling the web, menu's will be scroll too.

In the software category i would also using JQuery Image slider. In one category will be displayed only 3 software, but visitor can click next to choose another software in category. JQuery image slider will be use for it.

The content of this web will be look like this

On the content page will be given official logo of the software with official information like software website, developer, download link, forum, support and others.

In the related software will contain software in same category. For example, I am opening animation software Blender, then the related software will show the option animation software in same category such as pencil, synfig and other.

Maybe it's concept of my design web that i will make. Give me comment if you want suggest me for make great layout or concept. I think deadline of this project is 23rd January.

Animatic Picture

We've done picture shoot for Stop Motion Animation Project. It's time to post-production which will be editing pictture, dubbing, titling, and others. Of the several meeting many members of MMBAnimation Community can't attend, becasuse since MMB Radio at 97.5 on air we are split with the radio team. So just a few can attend and shoot picture for this community.

We can't waiting any member, because this radio will be rotate. And if we are waiting, the project can't finished! Our project will be released at Youtube on New Year Eve is canceled, because this project not yet done. Many thing must be done before this video done. So in this post, we are writing about animatic picture we've taken.

This video contains a collection of images that are combined using the Blender Video Sequence Editor. So that is starting to look how the story goes. It's not finished yet, still in animatic form of picture, not yet a final video. Everything could still change. Hopefully we can finish this in JANUARY. Enjoy our learning process in this video:

How to Create 3D Text in Blender Using Favorite Font

Yesterday my friend ask to me how to making arabic writing using Blender. There are two alternatives for it. First solution tracing the arabic image using path and the second using arabic font. Here i will share how to create 3D text (include arabic) using favorite font.

• Create a folder and insert the font will be used in Blender into this folder
• Create font object using Add (Shift A) > Text
• With the text still selected open the object data > go to font section and insert font that we want. Like this picture

• After that, switch into edit mode (Tab) > delete the default text > Write new text that we want
• Edit in geometry section to create it into 3D object

• It's more simple than using tracing image, but if you dont know what font in image, you must tracing it using curve etc.

About Quota on Internet Unlimited

The dominance of internet cafe (warnet) as a place to explore the virtual world begins to decline, though not a little internet cafe that opened up branches like the one in Bratang Surabaya. That is because simply get a more effective personal internet without having to go to the internet cafe and use their own devices at home by using a modem.

Here I'll share a little thing about some of the terms that often makes me confused friend unlimited internet related.

By using unlimited internet service, we can access the page as much as any to pay a FIXED price of each month. Whether or not we use it we use. Unlimited internet here really is unlimited, we can use their services. There are some friends confused about quotas, FUP, etc..

Quotas, it is quite sensitive in the world of unlimited internet for the layman. In general, knowing that my friends use unlimited internet subscriptions, but why be restricted by quota, it means not unlimited then?

In my opinion, quotas do not limit our internet access is unlimited, because whether quota and the quota has not gone away, we can still access the internet. The bottom line about the notion of quotas in the unlimited internet. Namely fair usage limits. It is not much different from the FUP (Fair Ussage Policy).

Let's say that we subscribe to unlimited internet with speeds up to 1Mb / s with a quota 2GB. If we have unlimited internet usage exceeds the quota, then we can enjoy data speeds up to 1Mb / s, but if she is more than we can still use unlimited internet at no extra cost with a much lower speed of 1Mb / s, could have 64kb / s. Policy depends on each operator. So QUOTAS not limit us in the surf in cyberspace, but only to limit our speed surfing in cyberspace.

7 Tips Create Great Layout

Last week I get a college assignment to create an e-magazine, because it is only collected as a pdf instead of a print out. At least the lecturers know difficulty boarding school boys are almost evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. Making a digital magazine is not much different from the way of making ebook, because the same concept:

a magazine or publication design is not about text and images on the page. It is about emtpy and white spaces on the page.

From some ebook that I have made, I would like to share some tips in the workmanship of an ebook / magazine and so on. There are several things to consider before doing it. This will greatly affect the speed and quality of the layout design. Here are a few things to consider in doing layouts.

THEMES. It is very influential with the form design, because after all we want is not possible to make a layout that deviated from the theme. For example, a magazine to give our children an adult magazine layouts. Do not ever do it.

CONCEPT. After finding a suitable theme, create the concepts for magazine. For example the local culture, because in recent years, this issue most using an various sector. Maybe with batik patterns or how that could highlight local culture

REFERENCES. As Picasso said that the GOOD artists copy, Great artists steal. At least this is what has been practiced by Apple and Windows computers. Currently there is no inspiration, no harm in seeing a reference, but must not copy and paste from the reference, but develop for the better result.

DRAFT. Themes and concepts we have created, then we create a draft layout. The draft here is not directly created in the software publishing, but it is advisable to first depicted on a sheet of paper. Why? From my experience when making an ebook without a draw in the draft and directly doing in front of the computer the eyes quickly tired, especially with the design being viewed less good, so it tends to make themselves easy to stress and a more rest. This reduces the effectiveness of the time. Unlike the ebook I have created draftya first, becomes much faster and the result also much better:).

PALLETE. The draft has been matched 100% and now time for us to execute on software publishing. In each of the supplied software publishing features color palette. In my opinion, understanding color palette is available in every publishing software. So, we make the colors that we will use in an ebook / a magazine. So we do not need to set one by one color for each element, because we have created from scratch, just call us anywhere we need. It is used to avoid differences in color that we really want the same color, rather than bother to match the RGB / CMYK / Hexa better advantage of the palette. Is not software designed to facilitate our work;)?

STYLE. Do not think only web pages that have a style called CSS. A page layout also requires a style that set the font type, font size, line height, spacing etc.. To create a layout of less than 10 pages does not matter, but if for a book with up to 100 pages? Want to set the font type, etc. one by one? Therefore make it a habit to use paragraph styles and character who seems to already exist in all software publishing. Once again I emphasize, is not software designed to facilitate our work;)?

Layering. While working be a layouter can certainly be associated with images, text and so on. Especially for design magazines, quite a lot of things that need attention. Few tips from me, it is better to use existing facilities at the software layer publishing. There is a facility down, up to raise or lower the level of the object, so the position of the object is above or below. However, by using the layer, we can sort out where the background is not necessary anymore diotak especial place, where the vector images, text, etc..

Maybe it was the advice I get from the experience create layout for my ebook. Maybe you can add other tips and trick for creating a layout design be better?

Dual Boot FAQ

In Indonesia, Linux is now increasingly rampant, so for some people like to have linux on his computer than using windows or mac. Therefore, Linux offers "something different" that is dual boot, which allows the user to have two operating systems on a hard drive.

I think it is a dual boot menu at boot time that requires us to choose one operating system already installed in your computer hard drive. So that we can customize the operating system we will use to do something.

My friends asked many questions about dual boot, here I will make a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) of the questions my friends.

Q: Is a dual boot makes the computer slow?

A: NO! In my opinion, dual boot does not have much effect on computer performance. Because, basically, dual boot just take hard disk space for installation of the operating system. When we are running one operating system, not running any other operating system. And only considered a normal data by the operating system is running. Example: There is a computer with 2 operating system, namely Ubuntu and Windows. When we are running Ubuntu, Windows operating system will only be read as an ordinary data rather than as an operating system that also runs, but when we are running windows, then the Ubuntu operating system will not be readable by windows, because windows can not read the disk partition, ubuntu is using EXT2 / EXT3 or EXT 4.

Q: Is the data available on Windows is missing?

A: NO! During the time of installation, we do not do the format on the hard disk that is used to perform the installation. While doing the installation should we reduce the disk that has free space at most, and the reduction does not require formatting the hard drive, but to create a new partition and install on the partitions require formatting the hard drive.

Q: Is making hard drive is damaged fast?

A: NO! In my opinion, nothing to do with dual boot hard drive is damaged, due to dual boot just like a hard drive partition divides and fill it with data. If it can increase the likelihood of hard drives please explain to me. Because according to my opinion does not make hard drives, different again if you frequently perform the OS installation.

The third question is often asked by my friend who wanted to do a dual boot. Rather than repeat many times the problem, should I share here for the others confusing about it.

I have been about a year using a dual boot on my Lenovo laptop. I use two operating systems it's Ubuntu Oeneric Oelicot and Linux Mint 9 Isadora. And in my opinion has no effect on the performance of my laptop.

May I share this little useful to overcome the confusion of friends about the risks that have become dogma:). Let's share

Trying Wacom on Ubuntu 11.10

For a digital artist familiar with a pen tablet called WACOM. Actually wacom is one brand rather than name the tools, but due to market dominance wacom regarded as a tool name, no longer known as a brand. There are big wacom tablet not in use, I directly plug in on my ubuntu 11.10 desktop. We don't need to install drivers of Wacom, because we are able to use wacom as usual but not all feature can use by ubuntu driver.

Since some previous ubuntu editions, we have no need to install wacom, because it is already plug and play on Ubuntu. So just plug the USB port and our desktop connected with Wacom. At 11:10 this Ubuntu I found a new feature for those users wacom. A feature like a driver installation where we can arrange a lot of configuration with GUI.

To display the features of Wacom Graphic Tablets can click on ubuntu logo in the desktop sidebar unity > type wacom > select wacom graphic tablet, or via the System Settings menu which by default is already available on the sidebar unity. Unlike the Ubuntu Lucid Lynx should perform the installation and some configuration first before using a wacom tablet.

Install LMMS at Ubuntu 11.10

Lots of people like to listen the music, quite a lot also like to make the music, but still many are still underestimating the license of music, but to make it takes a long time. With easy download at 4shared, ziddu and so on. Ironic that our can not fully appreciate the work of others.

For those who like to make music, do not go plowing because of what they make is also going to have hijacked. I introduce LMMS for those who love to make music. Probably not many people know what it is LMMS

LMMS is a Linux MultiMedia Studio, one of the powerful open-source software to produce music. There are many creations to create a melody, sound mixing, but it also can be connected to the keyboard as well as similar software.

For Ubuntu users can get it on the Ubuntu Software Center or by typing

sudo apt-get install LMMS

By the terms connected to the internet. Some time ago when I finished installing ubuntu 11:10, and tried to install LMMS as above but ways that I can only error messages. Find out why?

Although still in the repository, I initially tried to install ubuntu software instantly with the center, but the error message that appears is that the content I need winetrick 1.2, after I try to check, I've been using winetrick 1.3. The question remains the same, why is it not? Finally I was not able to answer that question.

After browsing at some sites, I finally found how to install LMMS. we must adding the repository. For added portability, use the command below at terminal:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa: dns / sound

After that 

sudo apt-get-update

and then type in

sudo apt-get install LMMS

Wait until the download and installation is complete, so Linux MultiMedia Studio can already be enjoyed on a computer ubuntumu.

MMB Animation ~ Multimedia Broadcasting Animation Community

It's almost six months I am being a polytechnic. It turns out that college was my select distinct with other friends. Maybe because I studied at the Electronics Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya. Many routines dormant since college here and replaced with new routines that had to be done.

At least this time I already have a container for any channel that I have and get whatever I do not have, especially in animation. MMBAnimation,  Multimedia Broadcasting Animation is a community of Multimedia Broadcasting Student at EEPIS. Maybe someday other majors in EEPIS can join with us to share and learn together about animation.

As a community that emphasizes togetherness, we finally made a blog, named MMBAnimaton located at http://MMBAnimation.tk. A blog that used to share the learning process. What we do we write in these blogs, so it can show the existence of community and sharing process.

Who knows with writing on the blog got a sponsor to work on animation projects :D. Yes awaited contribution of friends in the animation community blog Multimedia Broadcasting to just give advice via comment or join with our community.

We are currently working on stop motion animation project is planned to be launched in early 2012 on youtube. Follow the continued development of our project in the blog community.

Contribute to Blender Translation

A few month ago i found realy cool on Blender development project. I do not mean amazing features such cool ocean simulation, cyles, dynamic paint and so on. This stuff is the Blender with CHINESE Language!

Starting from there I took the initiative to join the developers of Blender as a translator. Due to join as a developer does not need to intelligent programming, because in our translation does not require programming, which takes only understand English and Indonesian languages.

Initially I did not find the directory to translate Blender into bahasa. I tried to search and finally I got an email from the contact person responsible for dealing with Blender translation into another language.

Translating Blender does not use the facilities like at the launchpad. I've tried to translate the launchpad like most open source software is translated, but it turns out to Blender itself has not been updated since 2010.

After tracing it, it turned out Blender development entirely under the auspices of the Blender Foundation is located at projects.blender.org. There was a lot of divisions that develop Blender. I found the translation division, and immediately I sign up.

Not a sign we can directly contribute to the development project, because maybe the developers of Blender only entrust the development to the people who are seriously willing to contribute in its development. Therefore we are required to contact the party responsible for the division.

After making contact, they are pretty friendly and quick to reply, so that within hours I was able to contribute to translate Blender. Until now I had just completed a few dozen words of about six thousand words in Blender software.

I've been editing the source does not perform the translation is, therefore I am writing here to invite friends to join me as a team of translators Blender into bahasa.

To contribute please register to projects.blender.org, then send an email to ndundupan@yahoo.com. I will connect with the person in charge / project admin, so friends can immediately contribute to the Blender by translating it.

Comparisson Blogger and Wordpress

Blogger is a part of Google product, you can get it FREE! A few days ago, in english lesson, i just tell that I am going to writing on my blog. My lecture just ask what my blog (i think the reason he ask my blog because when he ask question about what iam doing, i always answer with "writing on my blog"). I answer "panduaji[dot]net".

He asking some question about blog, and I answer it:
Lecture: How much buy domain and hosting?
Me: Just IDR 85.000
Lecture: Where you hosting your blog?
Me: I just using blogger, because it's FREE
Lecture: I think blogger is't not good. I prefer using wordpress.
Me: I don't like wordpress
Lecture: Why you don't like it? It's modern CMS, look great or you don't know about it?
Me: When you using free wordpress site, and you want to upgrade your domain, you must buy from wordpress site about $12. It's just domain without hosting. And then wordpress site have very much spam. I don't like it

a two day leter i meet him on second floor D4 building in Polythecnic, and he still remembering me and say "Good blog, keep writing".

I just want share opinion about wordpress and blogger here:

Wordpress:

• Besides free sign up, we also can download the Wordpress CMS for use in our site that we hosting
• Easy to leave a comment, it's the reason why spammer in wordpress is so much
• I think to many menu's in administration dashboard
• It's so hard for customization script like adsesne, and the other
• Someday when you want upgrade your domain to premium, you must pay to wordpress for domain, you can't buy from another domain reseller

Blogger:

• Can't download the CMS
• Simple dashboard
• Fast to load the dashboard page
• Free upgrading domain to premium domain (can buy domain from other domain reseller)
• Customable template
• Difficult comment system than worpdress site, but no spam from engine there

Learn to Writing English

Well, i don't know want to start from where? I've choose want to write this blog using English, but i don't want just copy and paste from my other blog. Since i moved this blog to old blog, this domain is useless. Pity if my $10 disposed, i just want to say sorry about that, because my english not well. Maybe can make someone who just know english confuse whenever read my post there.

Now, i want tell you about my reason, why i decide to activating this blog again

1. I regretted the money I spend to buy this domain,
2. This site already got PR 1, unfortunately when not in use
3. I want learn writing in english, maybe from there can make my english lesson little bit better
4. I want monetizing this blog :D. Since i browsing much site, they are got money from adsense, but some adsense just apply english blog.
5. I like writing and, its challenging for me
6. I have new site for posting english lesson :D. Because if I post english lesson on my primary blog, i just making the blog generaly, english is not relevant for my primary blog
7. I want sharing about english with the other, maybe someone read this blog can suggest me to be better in english
8. Preparing for TOEIC test :D
